China regards Huangshan Maofeng as one of its best teas. Highly sought after, it’s a delicate green tea that tastes much lighter than other green teas.

Baiji chooses Huangshan Maofeng for its high quality, superior taste and inspiration from Asian ingredients and ritual. For new tea drinkers put off by the strength of typical green tea, we encourage you to try Huangshan Maofeng instead.

Huangshan Maofeng green tea properties

Huangshan Maofeng is characterized by its leaves resembling long, slender needles. When brewed, they leave the water a pale gold colour with a fresh vegetal aroma. This green tea has a sweet, nutty taste with hints of floral and fruit tones.

Like most other green teas, Huangshan Maofeng is sipped to help support weight loss and to protect the body from heart disease, diabetes and other health conditions. This green tea detoxifies the body, regulates blood sugar, and promotes healthier skin, bones and immune system.

The best ways to drink this tea

Drink in the morning and throughout the day as needed to maintain energy levels. Drink hot or cold, and add a dash of lemon or honey to bring out a more full-bodied taste. Put one teaspoon into a strainer or teapot. Steep one teabag in 80-90°C water for 3-5 minutes for desired strength. This blend naturally contains caffeine.

A green tea that’s actually nice!

This green tea is the first I’ve actually liked! I find it so bitter usually but this is really mellow and subtle. With a bit of honey, in my Baiji cup, it was perfect!
